Rapid’s Soccer Performance Enhancement Program is a comprehensive program designed to increase a player’s first-step quickness, speed, agility while also decreasing the likelihood of injury. Our training philosophy is built around soccer’s unique physical demands and injury risk factors. Rapid implements ACL injury prevention exercises to enhance the player’s stability while running, jumping, decelerating and changing direction. Our intense stabilization program recruits the muscles required to stabilize the knee and in return help reduce injury. This list provides a brief overview of what the program primarily consists of:
Dynamic & Static Stretching – Prior to training, we warm the cold muscles up by actively stretching the muscles in various movement patterns. Static stretching follows the workout, and together will help decrease the likelihood of muscle strains or pulls and improve on-field performance.
Prehab - A series of hip and core stabilization exercises that train the small stabilizing muscles which will help increase joint stability and reduce the likelihood of injury.
Power exercises - The main staple of our program because it gives the athlete that explosive first-step. The player will be able to accelerate down the field faster and move quicker laterally by training lower body reactive power.
Movement skills- This incorporates soccer specific quickness and agility drills.Combining efficient movement patterns along with the use of sleds, bungees, and various drills, the player learns to accelerate, decelerate, and gai n the ability to react in an efficient manner that will cut down valuable time.
Functional Strength – Using an integrated strength training approach, we apply functional strength training methods to increase lower body balance, strength and stability.
Core – A strong and stable core is critical in transferring power from the ground up and increasing a player’s performance. With the use of various cable and medicine ball exercises, we train the core through multiple planes to help increase core stability so that players move efficiently when constantly changing direction.
